Description |
Blacksmith hammer on anvil. Pressed into the metal head: VAUGH AND BUSHNELL MFG. CO CHICAGO. Vaugn was founded in 1869 and was destroyed in the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Bushnell invested in the company and incorporated in 1882 as Vaughan and Bushnell Manufacturing Company, The company focused on hammers, hatchets, axes and wrecking bars. The Vaughn family bought out the Bushnell family in 1922. |
